Triple Crown 2012: I'll Have Another Keeps Triple Crown Hopes Alive

I'll Have Another pulled off another come from behind win at the Preakness and now has a chance to grab horse racing's first triple crown since 1978 with a win in the Belmont Stakes.

I'll Have Another pulled off his second straight late charge to defeat favorite Bodemeister to win the 2012 Preakness. That win along with the earlier win at the Kentucky Derby gives I'll Have Another a shot at horse racing's first Triple Crown since 1978 with a win at The Belmont.

Bodemeister was the favorite to win both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness and seemingly had both victories within his grasp. He will get the opportunity to play spoiler for I'll Have Another should he run at The Belmont. Since Affirmed won the last triple crown in 1978, 11 3-year-olds have won both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness but have fallen in the Belmont Stakes.
