SEC Baseball Tournament 2012: Mississippi State Upsets LSU 3-2

Mississippi States advances again this time knocking off top seeded LSU by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs will take on Kentucky at 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Mississippi State jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third inning on RBI singles by Adam Frazier and Brent Brownlee. LSU tied the game in the fifth when Mason Katz singled home two runs. The Bulldogs retook the lead for good in the sixth with an RBI hit from Demarcus Henderson. Frazier and Brownlee finished with two hits each for the Tiers while Raph Rhymes added two for the Bulldogs.

Chris Stratton earns the win for the Bulldogs after six strong innings in which he gave up five hits and two earned runs. Jonathan Holder earns the save with a perfect inning of work in the ninth. Joe Broussard takes the loss for the Tigers who used seven pitchers in the game.

LSU will take on Ole Miss on Thursday in an elimination game.
