ACC Baseball Tournament 2012: North Carolina Knocks Off Wake Forest

The number two seeded North Carolina Tarheels defeated the number seven seeded Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Wednesday night's ACC tournament contest at New Bridge Bank Park in Greensboro, NC by a final score of 6-0.

The shutout would be the UNC pitching staff's eighth of the year.

UNC jumped out to a big lead early in the bottom of the third inning when they put four runs on the board and added insurance runs in the the bottom of the fourth and eighth innings as well.

Shane Taylor got the start for the Tar Heels and allowed just three hits and no runs while walking four Wake Forest batters and striking out two.

The North Carolina offense was led by Jacob Stallings with two RBI's while Chaz Frank, Michael Russell and Cody Stubbs contributed one RBI apiece.
