2012 ACC Baseball Tournament: Virginia Comes From Behind To Defeat Clemson 3-2

Virginia scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth for a come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Clemson Tigers on Thursday.

The Cavaliers rallied with two outs in the eighth while trailing 2-1. Virginia loaded the bases and tied the game when Chris Taylor was hit by a pitch. The Cavaliers took the lead when new pitcher Scott Firth walked Brandon Cogswell forcing in the go-ahead run.

Virginia mustered just five hits on the afternoon but worked eight walks from Clemson pitching. Jared King finished 1 for 2 with an RBI in the win. Jon McGibbon had two hits and an RBI for the Tigers.

Kyle Crockett gets the win for the Cavaliers going 1.1 innings while allowing one hit and striking out two. Mike Kent takes the loss after allowing one hit and two runs in 2/3 of an inning of work. Justin Thompson got the final two outs for Virginia to earn his 12th save of the season.
