2012 UGA Baseball: David Perno To Return For 2013 Season

University of Georgia athletics director Greg McGarity put all rumors revolving around baseball coach David Perno to bed on Thursday saying that the 43-year old coach would be back for the 2013 season.

"Dave will be back next year. It's not even an issue. If you take SEC records over the last two years, and you give credit to South Carolina, Florida and Vandy, and do some research about where the rest of us are ... Over that two-year span we're one game over .500. Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU, you've got a lot of schools that are right where we are as far as SEC standings."

Georgia is 31-26 and may be on the outside looking in for the NCAA Tournament field after losing its last four games. The Bulldogs dropped two games to a struggling Alabama team and then bowed out quickly from the SEC Tournament with losses to Vanderbilt and Auburn.
