The Kentucky Wildcats knocked off the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the 2012 SEC Baseball Tournament at Regions Park in Hoover, AL. by a final score of 5-1.
For the Wildcats, A.J. Reed led the offense with two RBI's while Thomas McCarthy, Michael Williams and J.T. Riddle each contributed one RBI each. Jerad Grundy was the winning pitcher for Kentucky going six full innings and giving up four hits, one earned run and walking two Mississippi State batters and striking out nine. Alex Phillips was credited with the save.
For the Bulldogs, offense was difficult to muster as Adam Frazier and Trey Porter were the only batters for Mississippi State to record a hit in the ball game. Kendall Graveman started in the hill for the Bulldogs but only went two-and-one-third innings before being pulled after giving up five hits and two earned runs.
