The 2012 French Open is set to begin Sunday and Atlanta resident Donald Young has drawn Grigor Dimitrov in the opening round of the tournament. Young, 22, has experienced a bit of success against the 21-year-old from Bulgaria, boasting a 2-1 record against him.

Most recently, Young defeated Dimitrov 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 in the R. M. Keegan Championship in February. Both Young and Dimitrov have dropped matches this week. Young fell to Thomaz Bellucci on Tuesday 6-7, 6-0, 6-3, just after falling in two sets to Gilles Simon the week before. In fact, Young has dropped his last five matches and is 1-9 in his last 10, while Dimitrov has played more frequently in recent weeks and has seen more victories than losses.

This is a matchup between a lefty in Young and right-handed Dimitrov, which should make for some interesting tennis. Check out the Roland Garros official website for the full draw.
