2012 ACC Baseball Tournament: Georgia Tech Scores 17 Runs In Win Against Virginia

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets went off on Virginia on Friday morning with a 17-5 beating in the ACC baseball tournament. Virginia struck first with two runs in the second inning and another in the third to give the team a 3-0 advantage early on, but that was as good as it was going to get for them.

Georgia Tech started reeking havoc in the bottom half of the third inning with six runs scored on six hits. Brandon Thomas, two RBI single up the middle to score the first pair of runs that cut the lead to 3-2. Zane Evans then came up with a two RBI double to left field to give the Yellow Jackets their defining lead.

Four more runs in the fourth inning, another pair in the sixth and five more in the seventh inning put the run rule into effect.
