ACC Baseball Tournament 2012: Georgia Tech Advances To The Final With 5-1 Win Over Clemson

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will advance to the ACC Championship game for the first time since 2005 as they defeated the Clemson Tigers 5-1 in the semifinals on Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets scored all five of their runs in the first three innings, as Jake Davies hit a 2-run homer to get things rolling in the first. Then the trio of Thomas Smith, Daniel Springola and Zane Evans knocked in runs in the second and third to give the pitcher, Davies, enough run support to win the contest.

Davies pitched 6 strong innings giving up one earned runs and striking out three.

The Yellow Jackets will play in the title game for the first time in seven years, and in 2005 Georgia Tech were able to bring home the title. Can they do it again in 2012? Tech will face the winner of Florida State/Virginia vs. North Carolina/North Carolina State.
