2012 Women's College World Series: UGA Forces Game 3 With 1-0 Win Over Tennessee

The Georgia Bulldogs bounced back from Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Tennessee Volunteers with a 1-0 win in Game 2. The win forces a winner-take-all Game 3 for a spot in the Women's College World Series Bracket.

The Bulldogs got a solid defensive effort and a brilliant pitching performance from Erin Arevalo who allowed two hits in a complete game victory. Arevalo struck out four and walked three but was in control throughout.

Georgia scored the game's lone run when Macie Couey scored on a failed double play attempt as Ashley Pauly reached when second baseman Lauren Gibson's throw bounced off the glove of Tennessee first baseman Melissa Brown.

Ellen Renfroe pitched very well and is saddled with the tough luck loss. Renfroe allowed the one unearned run and three hits in six innings of work.
