Kentucky Derby 2012: Union Rags Is The New Favorite

The odds have shifted yet again in the 2012 Kentucky Derby. Once given the second-best odds at 9/2, Union Rags is now the favorite as of Saturday morning, given 6/1 odds to win this year's Kentucky Derby. Bodemeister, who had been the favorite at 4/1, is now at 8/1.

Heavy betting has affected the odds, and more betting can be expected up until post time at 6:24 p.m. The odds may continue to vary throughout the day, but here are the latest odds, sorted by post position.

  3. Take Charge Indy - 8/1
  4. Union Rags - 6/1
  5. Dullahan - 10/1
  6. Bodemeister - 8/1

  9. Trinniberg - 41/1
  10. Daddy Nose Best - 14/1
  11. Alpha - 22/1
  12. Prospective - 69/1
  13. Went The Day Well - 20/1
  14. Hansen - 7/1
  15. Gemologist - 8/1
  16. El Padrino - 33/1
  17. Done Talking - 34/1

It's pretty difficult to pick out any one particular favorite, with Dullahan, Bodemeister, Take Charge Indy, Gemologist, Hansen and Union Rags all given 10/1 odds or better.
