Wimbledon 2012 Seeds Announced; Maria Sharapova, Novak Djokovic Earn No. 1 Seeds

The third Grand Slam of the tennis season begins at Wimbledon on June 25 - July 8, with the top tennis players in the world vying to become the champion at the All-England Club. With the tournament just a few days away the seedings were announced for the top-15 players on the men's and women's side.

The No. 1 seed for the men's side is Novak Djokovic who is the defending Wimbledon champion. Djokovic will be looking to defend his title and win his second Wimbledon championships.

Maria Sharapova is coming off winning the 2012 French Open which gave her the career Grand Slam, and now she has been named the top women's seed at Wimbledon.

The American contingency is not rated too high, and on the men's side Mardy Fish is the higher of the two seeded players at No. 10, and just behind him is John Isner who is seeded at No. 11. As for the women's side from America, Serena Williams has earned the No. 6 seed.
