The Atlanta Dream got Angel McCoughtry back in the lineup on Sunday and snapped a two game losing streak with a 74-64 win over the New York Liberty.
McCoughtry wasted little time in making her presence felt finishing with 23 points, eight rebounds and three steals. While the offense was an added boost, Atlanta picked it up significantly on the defensive end of the floor holding New York to just 34 percent shooting. Atlanta harassed Cappie Pondexter into a 4 for 17 shooting day while finishing with 12 points.
Sancho Lyttle added 19 points, six rebounds and five steals for the Dream. Ketia Swanier got the start for Atlanta with Lindsey Harding ailing with an ankle injury. Harding came off the bench and ended up playing 23 minutes on that injured ankle and finished with four points and one assist.
Leilani Mitchell led the Liberty with 16 points while Kara Braxton had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Atlanta improves to 5-7 on the season and wins their first game on the road. Atlanta splits the four-game series with New York 2-2.
