Wimbledon 2012: Venus Williams Loses In Opening Round

Venus Williams dropped her opening round match with Russian Elena Vesnina on Monday, and was dominated in the process. Vesnina defeated Williams in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. The loss for Williams, which comes off her second round exit of the French Open earlier this month, is starting to spark conversations speculating on her retirement, since she is dealing with a list of health issues.

Williams had to pull out of several tournaments in 2011 due for health reasons, and her performance has steadily declined over the past couple of years.

Still, she said she's not retiring and plans to return back to form. We'll see. For now, her sister Serena will Court 2, the same one where Venus lost.
