Wimbledon Scores And Results

American Andy Roddick, perhaps better known lately for his marriage to Brooklyn Decker rather than his tennis skills, advanced in the first round of play at Wimbledon on Wednesday.

Roddick defeated the unseeded Jamie Baker in straight sets, winning 7-6 (7-1), 6-4, 7-5. Roddick is the tournament's No. 30 seed -- which is quite the fall from grace. Roddick lost in the second round of the Australian Open earlier this year, and then lost in the first round of the French Open. He'll look to regain respectability in the tennis world by making a run at Wimbledon.

Tennis legend Roger Federer advanced on Wednesday as well, winning in straight sets over Fabio Fognini, 6-1, 6-3, 6-2. Many tennis experts and analysts believe that this is Federer's best chance at winning another Grand Slam title.
