The Atlanta Dream look to avoid a three game losing streak Friday night when they take on the San Antonio Silver Stars at Philips Arena. Atlanta has dropped two straight falling in overtime 94-92 at home to the Chicago Sky last Saturday. The Dream then dropped a 79-74 decision to the Liberty on Tuesday in which they missed 14 of 19 attempts in the fourth quarter.
The Dream is no stranger to slow starts as last season's 3-9 record through the first 12 games indicates. Atlanta rallied from that start to win 21 of the next 27 before falling in the WNBA Finals to Minnesota. Still with plenty of new faces on this team and a road heavy schedule late, Atlanta can't bank on a strong turnaround. They need to start winning winnable games.
San Antonio comes to town with a 2-3 record and is led by point guard Becky Hammon who is averaging 17.2 points and 5.4 assists per game. The Silver Stars erased a 26 point deficit in the second half against unbeaten Minnesota on Sunday before falling 83-79.
Game Date/Time: Friday, June 8, 7:30 p.m. ET
Location: Philips Arena, Atlanta, Georgia
