2012 BB&T Atlanta Open: Andy Roddick, Michael Russell Advance

The 2012 BB&T Atlanta Open was once again plagued by rain on Wednesday as players were hit with very long delays. When the rain finally cleared enough for play to continue, Andy Roddick was moving on to the tournament quarterfinals after defeating Nicolas Mahut 7-6(4), 6-3.

Michael Russell pulled the only upset of the day defeating fifth seeded Kevin Anderson 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 to also move into the quarters. Go Soeda overcame Igor Kunitsyn despite a rain delay during his match and third seeded Kei Nishikori needed three sets to down qualifier Ricardas Berankis
