2012 London Olympics: Allison Schmitt Earns Silver Medal In Women's 400m Freestyle

UGA's Allison Schmitt scored a silver medal on Sunday in the Women's 400 meter freestyle at the 2012 London Olympics and a new American record. Schmitt finished the race with a time of 4:01.77 which was just a fraction behind gold medal winner Camille Muffat who registered an Olympic record 4:01.45.

Schmitt also won a bronze medal on Saturday as a part of the 4x100 meter freestyle relay team. She is also scheduled to take part in the 200 meter freestyle competition that will take place on Monday.
