Chipper Jones Named To NL All-Star Team In His Final Season

It won't take a "final vote" to get Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones to the 2012 MLB All-Star Game in Kansas City - after an injury to L.A. Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, Jones was named to the team.

Jones, along with Braves teammate Michael Bourn, had been part of a "final vote" currently taking place among fans for one remaining spot on the NL roster. Jones and Bourn were competing with the Cardinals' David Freese, Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill and the Nationals' Bryce Harper. As of Tuesday afternoon, Jones was in the lead, according to MLB.com.

Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City was the only park Chipper hadn't played in during his career.
