Team USA didn't bother with a slow start this time around as they rolled over Angola 90-38 in Group A play at the 2012 London Olympics. The U.S. quickly grabbed a 22-12 first quarter lead and then clamped down with a 19-6 run in the second quarter. The lead swelled to 41-18 at halftime and a 28-11 third quarter by the Americans put the final nail in the coffin of Angola.
Candace Parker led Team USA with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Seimone Augustus added 13. Maya Moore added 11 points while Angel McCoughtry finished in double figures with 10. Sonia Guadalupe led Angola with 10 points and Felizarda Jorge finished with eight.
Team USA will enjoy a day off on Tuesday before taking on Turkey on Wednesday.
