2012 MLB All-Star Game: Michael Bourn Loses Final Vote

Unfortunately for Atlanta Braves fans, center fielder Michael Bourn will not be travelling to Kansas City for the 2012 MLB All-Star Game. Bourn was a finalist in MLB.com's Final Vote where fans get to pick the last man on the roster for both the American League and National League teams.

Despite serious campaigning on the part of his Braves teammate, Chipper Jones, who was in the Final Vote lead on the NL side before being named as a replacement for injured Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, Bourn's bid for the final spot on the National League roster fell short as St. Louis Cardinals third baseman David Freese was declared the winner based on fan voting.
