Dwight Howard Trade: Deal In Place To Send Magic Center To Lakers

It appears that the saga is about over and Dwight Howard will be part of a four-team trade that will send the All-Star center to the Lakers. The principles in the deal include Andrew Bynum to the Sixers, Andre Iguodala to the Nuggets and Aaron Afflalo to the Magic although others are involved.

From a Hawks standpoint this takes the best center in the league out of the southeast division and places him on the west coast where they will only have to worry about him two times a season. The trade does however place Bynum in the east and on what appears to be an up and coming team in Philadelphia.

From an offseason perspective expect the Hawks to be one of the teams waiting to meet with Howard at the stroke of midnight when free agency opens in 2013. The probability of landing Howard was remote to begin with and the trade to the Lakers probably hurts those chances even further.
