2012 London Olympics: U.S. Finishes With Silver In Men's 4x400 Relay

The Bahamas caught up with the United States - literally - to pass the American team that beat them for gold in the last Olympics, taking the gold in London in a time of 2 minutes and 56.72 seconds when Ramon Miller passed Georgia Tech's Angelo Taylor with 50 meters remaining in the race.

Despite winning the silver, the U.S. team of Bryshon Nellum, Joshua Mance, Tony McQuay and Taylor finished with a season best time of 2:57.05, but broke a run of seven gold medals in a row for the Americans. Trinidad and Tobago’s Lalonde Gordon, Jarrin Solomon, Ade Alleyne-Forte and Deon Lendore won the bronze.

Previous to the London games, Taylor, a former NCAA champion at Tech, has three gold medals from the 2000 and 2008 games, two coming from from the 4x400 relay event.
