The Atlanta Falcons lost two key players in their first preseason game - rookie fullback Bradie Ewing and projected starting linebacker Akeem Dent - with Ewing lost for the year with a torn ACL, and Dent suffering a concussion.

Dent, as announced by the team, will sit out for the time being in accordance with the league's concussion protocol. That means he'll be out for at least the upcoming game against Cincinnati on Thursday, with veteran Mike Peterson taking over at the position.

Ewing was moved to injured reserve this week, and the Falcons made roster moves to add depth to the fullback position, which left only Mike Cox (running back Jason Snelling has played fullback in the past and is considered an emergency option).

Atlanta signed journeyman Lousaka Polite, most recently with the New England Patriots. Polite has been in the league since 2004 with a career total of 296 yards on 95 carries and one touchdown.
