Georgia Tech Football Fall Camp: Pistol Formation Joins Triple-Option

Georgia Tech is looking to expand its triple option attack, apparently - the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that in addition to the shotgun formations the Yellow Jackets experimented successfully with during spring scrimmages, the team is also incorporating the pistol:

The offense worked on pistol stuff, which it did in the spring. Coach Paul Johnson had mentioned that the offense was "was pretty good at what we do. When we started in the auxiliary stuff, not so good."

Johnson also hasn't issued official injury updates, but several key players were out, including Synjyn Days, cornerback Rod Sweeting, offensive tackles Ray Beno and Morgan Bailey and B-back David Sims. Only Sims' condition (a concussion) has been disclosed to the media, but all the players mentioned are expected to return to practice this week.

Of the group, Days is likely the biggest concern, as he's considered a front runner to play quarterback or A-back, or possibly both positions.
