Rory McIlroy didn't just win the 2012 PGA Championship, he dominated en route to doing so. McIlroy won by a record eight strokes, finishing 13-under par, capturing the second major title in his young career.

McIlroy saved his best for last, shooting a 6-under 66 on Sunday, clinching the tournament for himself. David Lynn finished eight strokes off the pace, at 5-under for the tournament.

Not only did McIlroy capture the major title, but but also regained the world's No. 1 ranking with the victory, leapfrogging both Luke Donald and Tiger Woods with the victory.

Woods, meanwhile, finished tied for 11th place, shooting a 2-under 286 for the tournament. Woods' best round came on Thursday, when he placed himself squarely in the hunt, shooting a 3-under 69, but could not gain momentum throughout the weekend.

Donald, who had been atop the World Golf Rankings, finished tied for 32nd, shooting 2-over for the tournament.

Left-handed superstar Phil Mickelson again struggled, finishing tied for 36th at 3-over for the tournament.

Keegan Bradley, Justin Rose and Ian Poulter finished tied for third in the tournament, as they all shot a 4-under 284 for the tournament.
