After Tim Hudson led the Braves to a dominant 6-0 win over the Padres, the team will look to make it two in a row tonight.
To do so, they'll send newly-acquired Paul Maholm to the hill. Since coming over from the Chicago Cubs, Maholm has been stellar in his first two starts as a Brave, posting a combined 16 innings and 13 strikeouts, allowing just three earned runs. The leftie is 6-1 with a 1.18 ERA in his last eight starts.
The Padres will counter with the sometimes-exciting, always-erratic Edinson Volquez. Volquez has surrendered a walk in every one of his 24 starts, and hasn't allowed fewer than 3 walks in a game since May 12. The former Red has especially struggled of late, giving up 15 earned runs in his last three starts.
This is the third game of a four game series, and it will air at 7:10 on Sports South and 680 The Fan.
