The Georgia Bulldogs are ranked ninth in the country in the SI.com Top 25 preseason poll, which was released Wednesday. Georgia is one of four SEC teams to make the top-10, and one of six to make the top-25. The Bulldogs join top-ranked Alabama, third-ranked LSU, and seventh-ranked South Carolina in SI.com's top-10, while 12th-ranked Arkansas and 24th-ranked Auburn round out the SEC's presence in the Top 25. Georgia misses Alabama, LSU and Arkansas in the 2012 regular season, but travels to road games at both South Carolina and Auburn. In-state rival Georgia Tech, who the Bulldogs host on November 24, cracked the SI.com poll at No. 20.

Georgia finished 10-4 last year and made an appearance in the Outback Bowl, where they lost 33-30 to Michigan State. The Bulldogs return 15 starters, including quarterback Aaron Murray, who set a school record with 35 touchdown passes in 2011. Georgia was ranked sixth in the USA Today preseason poll.
