Third-string Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Christian Lemay got more reps in Thursday's practice as the coaches prepare him for the possibility of being Aaron Murray's backup. Right now that guy is Hutson Mason -- who the Bulldogs would love to redshirt -- but perhaps less encouraging for Lemay is that he's also holding off walk-on Parker Welch.
Still, offensive coordinator Mike Bobo continues to see improvement from Lemay, as he told Macon.com's Seth Emerson :
"Definitely improvement from last year and we’ve still got a lot to work on and a lot to improve on. I like his attitude and I like how he’s progressed. The dynamic we have there, Hutson’s No. 2 if injury happens. But if it’s finish the game, right now it’d be LeMay or Parker Welch."
The Bulldogs are still fresh off a Wednesday scrimmage from which head coach Mark Richt left disappointed in the quarterback play. Lemay was 2-of-5 passing with a pick in the scrimmage.
