Angel McCoughtry scored 25 points and the Atlanta Dream opened the second half of the WNBA season with an 82-76 win over the Chicago Sky.
Atlanta entered the fourth quarter trailing in a nip and tuck game but a strong final quarter proved to be the difference. The Dream outscored the Sky 23-15 in the final period and took the lead for good with 3:13 remaining on a McCoughtry putback.
McCoughtry hit 8 of 16 shots and also finished with eight rebounds and six assists to go with her 25 points. Erika de Souza scored 19 points in her first game of the season for the Dream. Lindsey Harding added 15 points while Sancho Lyttle added 14 points and a team-high seven assists. Epiphanny Prince led the Sky with 16 points while Sylvia Fowles added 13 points and six rebounds.
The win evens the Dream's record on the season at 10-10. They are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Indiana to take on the Fever.
