Georgia Bulldogs inside linebacker Amarlo Herrera saw a lot of playing time last year as a freshman because of injuries. Coming into this sophomore season, that early experience could pay dividends for a Bulldogs defense that needs the depth, explains Roger Clarkson of the Athens Banner-Herald.
Herrera looks to be first in line as starting linebacker Alec Ogletree faces potential suspension (just one of many discipline problems the defense is facing). Herrera says he is ready:
"Last year helped a lot. I know better what to expect now. I know how the game is played and how to play on the college level. I know what’s expected of me."
The Bulldogs open the season at home Saturday, Sept. 1, against Buffalo.
