Georgia's No. 2 offensive line unit is still unsettled, so offensive line coach Will Friend has been shifting his personnel around to try to find the best combination there. JUCO transfer Mark Beard, who's worked mostly at guard with the second and third teams since enrolling in January, is getting reps at left tackle with the No. 2 unit, according to the Athens Banner-Herald's Marc Weiszer.

Meanwhile, Austin Long, who's looking to secure the No. 2 left tackle spot, and Watts Dantzler, who's still in the mix to start at right tackle, are seeing reps at guard, though it's unlikely the 6-7 Dantzler sticks in the interior. Friend said the coaches simply wanted to see what Beard could do on the edge.

"Richt said his early impression of Beard, a junior college transfer, is that he showed quickness to pass protection plays but has to improve at blocking defenders in space."--Marc Weiszer, Athens Banner-Herald

If recent indications hold, Georgia will start Kenarious Gates, Chris Burnette, David Andrews, Dallas Lee and freshman John Theus along the offensive line (from left to right tackle, respectively) in Sept. 1's season-opener against Buffalo.
