NASCAR At Michigan Update: Greg Biffle Wins After Jimmie Johnson Blows Engine

Greg Biffle won Sunday's Pure Michigan 400 at the Michigan International Speedway. It is Biffle's second win of 2012, his third win at MIS, and it gives team-owner Jack Roush his record-setting 12th victory at the track.

Brad Keselowski wound up second, ahead of Kasey Kahne, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Marcos Ambrose. Carl Edwards finished sixth, Clint Bowyer was seventh, Ryan Newman was eighth, Paul Menard ninth, and Martin Truex Jr. finished tenth.

Jimmie Johnson appeared to have the race in the bag with six laps remaining when his engine blew. It is the second-engine failure of the weekend for Johnson, who was forced to change motors during the first practice session Saturday. Despite starting at the rear of the field, Johnson drove to the front of the field and seemed destined for his first win at MIS before he went up in smoke.

Johnson joined teammate Jeff Gordon and Stewart-Haas Racing's Tony Stewart as drivers with Hendrick power who blew engines during the race.

With the win, Biffle claims a 21-point edge on Matt Kenseth.
