Braves Vs. Nationals Lineups: Chipper Jones Not Starting

The Atlanta Braves look to rebound in the second game of a three-game series against the NL East leading Washington Nationals, a night after dropping the series opener in extra innings.

Both Fredi Gonzalez and Davey Johnson have released the starting lineups for Tuesday night. You'll notice the absence of Chipper Jones in Atlanta's lineup.

Atlanta Braves

CF Michael Bourn
LF Martin Prado
RF Jason Heyward
1B Freddie Freeman
2B Dan Uggla
C Brian McCann
3B Juan Francisco
SS Paul Janish
SP Paul Maholm

Washington Nationals

RF Jayson Werth
CF Bryce Harper
3B Ryan Zimmerman
LF Michael Morse
1B Adam LaRoche
SS Ian Desmond
2B Danny Espinosa
C Jesus Flores
SP Stephen Strasburg

No reason has been given on Jones' absence from the lineup yet, but it's very possible that Fredi Gonzalez is just giving the Hall of Famer a day off -- and he might as well get a day off against one of the best pitchers in all of baseball.
