Strongside defensive end Robert Nkemdiche of Loganville, GA is the No. 1 prospect in the nation. Committed to Clemson, the Tiger-to-be is enjoying the close of his high school career, trying to stay humble in the face of growing notoriety. More information on Nkemdiche after the jump.
Nkemdiche seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders. Profiled in the Altanta Journal-Constitution, the prospect seemed to take everything in stride:
Grayson coach Mickey Conn told the AJC that he is considering having a security guard escort Nkemdiche off the field after games. Nkemdiche has been known to stay 45 minutes or longer after games to talk to an adoring public and sign autographs for kids.
Even opposing players sometimes make autograph requests.
"It’s crazy but I don’t let it go to my head," Nkemdiche said with a laugh. "If they ask for an autograph, I will give them one. I may be one of their heroes, I don’t know. But if I saw Cam Newton, I’d ask him for an autograph. It’s the same thing."
Nkemdiche enters college with all the expectations that come with being the No. 1 prospect, so he'll need a good head on his shoulders if he wants to succeed.
