UGA Football Preseason: Coach Mark Richt Yet To Name A Starting Safety

With the University of Georgia’s first game of the season against Buffalo just eight days away, head coach Mark Richt has remained silent on who will start at safety for the Bulldogs opposite of senior Shawn Williams.

With All-American safety Bacarri Rambo expected to be suspended for four games due to a violation of Georgia’s drug testing policy, Richt has yet to name a starter at the position, according to a report in the Athens Banner-Herald.

"I probably won’t ever say that," Richt told the Banner-Herald. "Just because, strategically, I don’t know if I want people to know what we’re going to do. It might give them a hint. I don’t want to give them a hint."

As a junior, Rambo recorded 55 tackles and eight interceptions.
