The Barclays 2012: Georgia Native Brian Harman In Second Place

With a 6-under in the first round at The Barclays, Savannah native Brian Harman finished the day in second place. He trails Padraig Harrington by one stroke for the lead.

Harman, who is tied with Nick Watney, had seven birdies and one bogey in his opening round. In 24 events this year, Harman has yet to finish in the top-10.

He isn't the only player with Georgia ties that is near the top of the leaderboard, though. Chris Kirk, who resides in St. Simons Island, Ga., is 4-under through 15 holes.

They are all chasing Harrington. The Irish golfer had eight birdies and one bogey in his first round.

As for the big names, Tiger Woods finished at 3-under and Rory McIlroy was 2-under. The two golfers were in the same group on Thursday.
