The Barclays 2012: Brian Harman In 2nd Place After Day 1

Savannah native Brian Harman was a bit of a surprise on Thursday at The Barclays. Despite being ranked No. 101, he finds himself in second place after a 6-under in his first round. He tallied seven birdies and one bogey for the day.

Harman and the rest of the field trail Padraig Harrington. The Irish golfer shot a 7-under in his first round, giving him a one-shot lead over Harman and Nick Watney.

Masters winner Bubba Watson was up-and-down for his entire first round. Despite having three birdies and an eagle, four bogeys left him at just 1-under after the first round.

Other notable scores after the first round include Sergio Garcia at 5-under; Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Ernie Els at 3-under; and Rory McIlroy at 2-under.
