Braves vs. Giants Lineups: Brian McCann Gets a Day Off

The Atlanta Braves are looking to right the ship and stay on top of the NL Wild Card after losing the first two games of the series to the San Francisco Giants.

The Braves still lead the National League wild card but sit only 1.5 games ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Brian McCann is taking the day off after playing in five straight games.

Braves lineup:

1. Michael Bourn (L) CF

2. Martin Prado (R) 3B

3. Jason Heyward (L) RF

4. Freddie Freeman (L) 1B

5. David Ross (R) C

6. Reed Johnson (R) LF

7. Dan Uggla (R) 2B

8. Paul Janish (R) SS

9. Mike Minor (R) P

Mike Minor (6-10, 4.74 ERA) looks for his first win in August and a halt to his three-game losing streak. Minor's current losing streak isn't exactly his fault though, as he has pitched halfway decently, especially in his last decision, a 0-5 loss against the Dodgers where Minor pitched seven innings and gave up one run. The Braves have scored one run in Minor's three last starts.

Giants Lineup:

1. Angel Pagan (S) CF

2. Marco Scutaro (R) 2B

3. Pablo Sandoval (S) 3B

4. Buster Posey (R) C

5. Hunter Pence (R) RF

6. Joaquin Arias (R) SS

7. Brandon Belt (L) 1B

8. Francisco Peguero (R) LF

9. Madison Bumgarner (R) P

The Braves will have their hands full with Bumgarner who has pitched very well in his last two starts, going 2-0 with 17 innings pitched, sixteen strikeouts, while only giving up one run. Jason Heyward is 4-11 lifetime against Bumgarner.
