NASCAR At Bristol Update: Fiery Accident Ends David Ragan's Night, Involves Leader Kasey Kahne

Unadilla's David Ragan is done in the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway after a fiery wreck on lap 148. Ragan was behind a tangle between Jason Leffler - who caused the first accident of the night by wrecking Ken Schrader and is habitually involved in yellows across NASCAR racing - and David Stremme. Stremme checked up and Ragan ran into the back of him, puncturing the oil cooler on his No. 34 Ford.

As expected when one punctures an oil cooler, all the oil being "cooled" at that point found its way onto the searing metal that makes up a stock car racing engine. Ragan's car fireballed briefly as he spun off the second turn and tagged the inside wall and continued to smolder as the Georgian climbed out.

Race leader Kasey Kahne hit the oil and slammed the wall, sending him to pit road for repairs to the right-front suspension area of his Chevrolet. Joey Logano is back out front after leading 80 laps earlier in the race. Brian Vickers, Brad Keselowski, Jeff Gordon, and Marcos Ambrose round out the top-five.
