Lynx Vs. Dream Final Score: Minnesota Hands Atlanta 84-74 Loss

The Atlanta Dream started fast but the Minnesota Lynx proved to be too much of a challenge late as they fall 84-74 to the defending WNBA Champs. This was the first meeting between the two clubs since last season's WNBA Finals which ended in a three-game sweep for the Lynx.

Atlanta jumped out to a 26-23 lead at the end of the first quarter but struggled to score as the game went on. Minnesota outscored the Dream 61-48 the rest of the way. Seimone Augustus led all scorers with 23 points and Rebekkah Brunson added 21 points and 13 rebounds. Atlanta native Maya Moore added 14 points and 10 boards while Lindsay Whalen added 13 points and eight assists.

Angel McCoughtry returned to the Atlanta Dream after a two-game absence and scored 14 points off the bench. Sancho Lyttle also finished with 14 while Tiffany Hayes and Cathrine Kraayeveld added 12.

McCoughtry sat out the Dream's last two games with what was called "personal reasons" by the team. However, news broke on Friday that she had been stripped of her captaincy with the team and then didn't enter the game until late in the first quarter.
