UGA Football Recruiting 2013: Tyren Jones Makes Unofficial Stop In Athens

Tyren Jones, the No. 1 high school running back prospect in Georgia, has been committed to Alabama since February, but recently made an unofficial visit to UGA. This could easily have Georgia fans excited, especially since Jones' high school offensive lineman teammate Brandon Kublanow is already committed to the Dawgs and trying to get him to flip his decision.

Jones says he's pretty confident in his decision to play for the Crimson Tide in 2013 because he feels like they can make him an all-purpose back and help him get to the next level. Jones is also trying to get Kublanow to change his mind and go to Alabama. The two clearly want to head to a college in a package deal, but seem to be decided on two different universities at the moment.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has a video interview with Jones and he discusses all of this there. It's also worth noting that Jones had 305 rushing yards and five touchdowns in the Corky Kell Classic at the Georgia Dome on Saturday.

For more on the Georgia Bulldogs, head over to Dawg Sports, and be sure to check out SBNation's dedicated NCAA Football hub.
