Though former Georgia player and newest American hope John Isner does not open play on Monday at the U.S. Open, plenty of other Americans as well as storylines will provide lots to watch on the opening day of tennis's final grand slam event.
Mardy Fish and Robby Ginepri both get underway at Flushing Meadow's Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, as Fish will highlight the day's action at Louis Armstrong Court and Ginepri heads off to Court 4.
London gold medalist Andy Murray will open his attempt at his first grand slam tournament win on Monday against Russia's Alexander Bogomolov on Arthur Ashe Court after Austria's No. 7 Samantha Stosur opens play on Flushing Meadow's center court at 11 a.m.
Roger Federer highlights the always entertaining night session, as he takes on American Donald Young in the night's headlining event. Kim Clijsters also will play under the lights at Arthur Ashe on Monday.
