For the first time in team history, someone other than Marynell Meadors will coach the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night when they take on the Tulsa Shock at Philips Arena. Assistant coach Fred Williams was named head coach and general manager on Monday replacing Meadors and he hopes to guide the Dream back into the playoffs.
Atlanta is currently 12-12 and has 10 games remaining in the regular season. That 12-12 mark is good for third place currently in the Eastern Conference. Tulsa comes into the game winless on the road and in last place in the Western Conference.
Angel McCoughtry returned to the Atlanta lineup in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Lynx. She sat out the previous two games for what the team called "personal reasons" but it could have been a spat with Meadors that eventually led to the head coach's exit.
Game Date/Time: Tuesday, August 28, 7 p.m. ET
Location: Philips Arena, Atlanta, Georgia
TV: Fox Sports South
Online Streaming: WNBA Live Access
