2012 U.S. Open Scores: Second Day Action Underway

First round action at the U.S. Open continues on Tuesday. Eight women's matches have completed in Flushing, N.Y. No. 2 ranked Agnieszka Radwanska won her first round match over Nina Bratchikova in straight sets. No. 12 Ana Ivanovic won in straight sets as well over Elina Svitolina.

No. 24 Klara Zakopalova and No. 32 Shuai Peng were both upset in their first round matches against Andrea Hlavackova and Elena Vesnina. Other winners on the day include Carla Suarez Navarro, Sofia Arvidsson, Ekaterina Makarova and Galina Voskoboeva.

On the men's side of the tournament, only No. 6 Tomas Berdych has won a match on Tuesday, defeating David Goffin. Jimmy Wang also won his match against Ivo Karlovic. Both No. 11 Nicolas Almagro and No. 15 Milos Raonic are both in extended matches. Almagro leads Radek Stepanek in the fourth set and Raonic leads Santiago Giraldo early in the fifth and final set.

No. 20 Andy Roddick has won his first two sets against Rhyne Williams. Other men's matches underway include a four-set match against Thomaz Bellucci and Pablo Andojar.
