Tennessee Tech has announced that former Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers has transferred to the FCS program on Monday.

The All-SEC receiver was indefinitely suspended last week by coach Derek Dooley for a violation of team rules, which was reportedly over a repeated failure of the team's substance abuse policy.

Rogers will be able to play immediately for the Golden Eagles as he transfers from FBS to FCS. A big reason for Rogers' transfer to Tennessee Tech was his relationship with high school teammate Tre Lamb, who is TTU's starting quarterback.

Tennessee Tech coach Watson Brown understands Rogers' past and knows that he needs to take advantage of his second chance.

"We've met with Da'Rick, and he understands our expectations."

Rogers is excited about the opportunity to play this season with TTU's high-powered offense.

"It'll be exciting. I'm excited to be here and be with the team and have brand new camaraderie with these guys. It'll be fun to watch us play."
