Former Tennessee wide receiver told reporters that failed drug tests were the reason the All-SEC receiver was suspended last week.
In a report from Mike Organ of The Tennessean, Rogers admitted that he failed multiple drug tests while with the Volunteers, and that forced Derek Dooley to suspend Rogers indefenitely from the team. Rogers transferred to FCS Tennessee Tech on Monday.
"There were a couple of drug tests. And it was about me being a young, immature guy and those are things that I’ve got to work on. I plan to do that. When it came to review my next school and I met coach (Watson) Brown I most definitely felt like he was a guy that could help me with all my things and the situation that I had going on."
Tennessee Tech head coach Watson Brown told reporters that Rogers will dress in the Golden Eagles' season opener versus Hampton, but it unsure with how much playing time Rogers would receive.
