Angel McCoughtry Suspended By Atlanta Dream For Violation Of Team Rules

After some initial confusion, the Atlanta Dream confirmed that Angel McCoughtry has been suspended from the team indefinitely for the violation of team rules. The suspension was handed down on Tuesday by new head coach and general manager Fred Williams according to team spokeswomen Tonya Allene.

An AP report states that McCoughtry was openly critical of former coach Marynell Meadors' game plan in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Lynx after the game. McCoughtry came off the bench against the Lynx after sitting out two straight games for what was called "personal reasons" by the team.

McCoughtry was informed of the suspension on Tuesday and was not in the building when her teammates arrived for Tuesday's game against the Shock.

The team did not go into detail on what team rules had been violated by McCoughtry but it is clear that things were not good between her and Meadors after the two returned from the Olympics.
