Hawks Add Bob Weiss, Kenny Atkinson To Coaching Staff

Hawks head coach Larry Drew announced on Tuesday that former head coach Bob Weiss and Kenny Atkinson were added to his coaching staff.

Long time fans will remember Weiss who was the team's head coach from 1990-93. Weiss will be heavily involved in player development and will sit behind the team's bench and act as an advisor for Drew. Atkinson also brings a strong background in player development having been credited with helping Jeremy Lin reach the next level while in New York. The two new additions replace Kenny Gattison and Tyrone Hill from last year's staff.

The Hawks also announced that long term strength and conditioning coach Chattin Hill will not return and has been replaced by Jeff Watkinson.

The team also confirmed that former general manager Rick Sund has taken a new job in the front office as an advisor to basketball operations. Sund will assist in scouting and split time between Atlanta and his home in Seattle.
