Tennessee Vs. NC State Odds: Vols Marginally Favored

The North Carolina St. Wolfpack are set to take on the Tennessee Volunteers on Friday night at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The Wolfpack is coming off a strong year, with a win in the Belk Bowl over Louisville after an 8-5 season. They're returning seven starters on both sides of the ball, including quarterback Mike Glennon, who had 31 touchdowns to his credit a season ago. They're returning starters to a defense that had 39 takeaways last season as well.

Tennessee enters after a poor season, with head coach Derek Dooley having an 11-14 record over the past two seasons, including a 1-7 mark in the SEC a season ago. Tyler Bray is starting for the third season in a row, but is without wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers, which is a sizable lost.

Most would assume that N.C. State would be favored given all of that but this isn't the case, as most odds have the Volunteers favored, albeit by a small margin. The moneyline (from OddsShark) is at -155 in favor of Tennessee while the Wolfpack are at +140. That was the opening line anyway, with sites like Bovada and Just Bet sitting around -155 for the Vols and +135 for the Wolfpack. The spread is sitting at -2.5 for the Vols.
